Welcome to the Wiggle Room, Aquidneck Islands first doggie daycare!
At the Wiggle Room we understand what it's like to work long hours or have busy days and come home to a canine pal, full of energy, who has been waiting patiently for you all day. Sometimes the last thing that you want to do is take a long walk, especially in those winter months! When your dog attends the Wiggle Room you can feel at ease knowing that your best friend is in caring hands playing with their friends. When you come to pick up, we can guarantee a tired, happy pup!
We provide a fun, safe, cage-free play environment for your dog to enjoy. The Wiggle Room offers both indoor and outdoor play areas, each playroom has its own outdoor area so your dog is free to go in and out as they please. Recycled rubber flooring has been installed and sealed throughout the entire facility, creating a safe indoor play space. Rubber flooring is better on joints, and easier on the dogs overall, especially when wrestling and romping around. The floors also offer a more sanitary environment, as well as environmentally friendly. The staff loves it too!
All outdoor play areas are secured with "dog proof" fencing so there will be no escapees, although why would they want to go anywhere when all their friends are here! Doors located off both the front and back of the playroom are often left open when the weather permits. The dogs love the freedom to play inside, lounge on the doggie couches, jump in the kiddie pools, or sunbathe. The Wiggle Room is fully air conditioned, so if the weather is too hot for us to play safely outside you have the comfort in knowing that your friend is wrestling coolly indoors! We are also fully heated for those cold winter days.
The Wiggle Room is a full service dog facility. We offer daycare, training, grooming, transportation, birthday parties, and tons of fun! All of our daycare pack leaders are highly experienced dog handlers. We have maintained an impeccable reputation for over a decade, and can't wait for you to see why!
Where it all started...
The Wiggle Room was established by Maia Chrupcala in the summer of 2010. Maia is a Newport, RI native who has always loved animals. After working in the hospitality industry, and then in the social services field, she felt she needed a serious career change. Maia began working for the Newport Animal Hospital as a veterinary technician in 2005. Always interested in opening her own business, the thoughts of owning a doggie daycare began to take shape, and in May 2010 she left the Newport Animal Hospital to pursue The Wiggle Room. Having an animal experience background is part what makes The Wiggle Room such a success. Maia is married and lives in Newport, RI with her husband, Corey, their dogs Apple and Zinnia and three kitties, Arrow, Zombie, and Oscar.
Wiggle Room Ambassadors
Lola, aka "Wiggle Butt", was Maia's first dog and the inspiration for the business name 'The Wiggle Room". She was an English bulldog who would wiggle her bum fiercely when greeting her mom and dad, or really anyone! Sadly, she passed away on November 22nd, 2012 at 10.5 years old. She was definitely the leader of the pack and a loyal friend.
Scarlette, Maia's second dog, quickly took over Lola's place as pack leader. She was a patient, gentle giant and was every dogs first new friend during their evaluation. Her best friends were Roxie, Finn, Buddha, Hannah, and Tugger. Scarlette crossed the rainbow bridge on October 5th, 2017 at 9 years old.
Apple, Scarlette's predecessor and little sister, took over the pack leader role. She ran the group with more structure and lots of respect! She was a silly, smart, and intuitive girl. She had a best friend and boyfriend of 5 years, Harry, and lots of pack friends over the years. Apple passed away on October 7th, 2021.
Zinnia is a very willful 5 year old Dogue de Bordeaux. She is very silly and loves to talk all about it! Her nicknames are TB (for Tiny Baby) and Screamy, did we mention she likes to talk? Her best friends are CeCe, Jaeger, Gino, and Bucci.
Veruca, aka Scrunch, is the newest addition! She is a 1 year old old Dogue de Bordeaux and has big shoes to fill! Her best friends so far are Kicks, Maizie, Bubba, Lily, and of course her sister, Zinnia.
We have lost several pack members over the years, each one takes a little piece of our hearts with them. They will always live on at the Wiggle Room. Roxie, Finn, Harry, Bosco, Emerson, Lucy, Winnie, Tugger, Kora, Harley, Goose, Arthur, Zoe, Shiloh, Ollie, Mack, Boden, Ruby... and those that we may not even be aware of.
